This is a pretty long read but the info here in is good. This is a reprint from The Daily Beast.

It’s time our government leaders get in step with what is going on with these muzzies. All this stuff Barry Obama is doing is only a cover up to keep American’s minds off of the ultimate goal the muslims are after, to take over America from within.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali:The Global War on Christians in the Muslim World

From one end of the muslim world to the other, Christians are being murdered for their faith.

We hear so often about Muslims as victims of abuse in the West and combatants in the Arab Spring’s fight against tyranny. But, in fact, a wholly different kind of war is underway—an unrecognized battle costing thousands of lives. Christians are being killed in the Islamic world because of their religion. It is a rising genocide that ought to provoke global alarm.

The portrayal of Muslims as victims or heroes is at best partially accurate. In recent years the violent oppression of Christian minorities has become the norm in Muslim-majority nations stretching from West Africa and the Middle East to South Asia and Oceania. In some countries it is governments and their agents that have burned churches and imprisoned parishioners. In others, rebel groups and vigilantes have taken matters into their own hands, murdering Christians and driving them from regions where their roots go back centuries.

The media’s reticence on the subject no doubt has several sources. One may be fear of provoking additional violence. Another is most likely the influence of lobbying groups such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation—a kind of United Nations of Islam centered in Saudi Arabia—and the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Over the past decade, these and similar groups have been remarkably successful in persuading leading public figures and journalists in the West to think of each and every example of perceived anti-Muslim discrimination as an expression of a systematic and sinister derangement called “Islamophobia”—a term that is meant to elicit the same moral disapproval as xenophobia or homophobia.

But a fair-minded assessment of recent events and trends leads to the conclusion that the scale and severity of Islamophobia pales in comparison with the bloody Christophobia currently coursing through Muslim-majority nations from one end of the globe to the other. The conspiracy of silence surrounding this violent expression of religious intolerance has to stop. Nothing less than the fate of Christianity—and ultimately of all religious minorities—in the Islamic world is at stake.

From blasphemy laws to brutal murders to bombings to mutilations and the burning of holy sites, Christians in so many nations live in fear. In Nigeria many have suffered all of these forms of persecution. The nation has the largest Christian minority (40 percent) in proportion to its population (160 million) of any majority-Muslim country. For years, Muslims and Christians in Nigeria have lived on the edge of civil war. Islamist radicals provoke much if not most of the tension. The newest such organization is an outfit that calls itself Boko Haram, which means “Western education is sacrilege.” Its aim is to establish Sharia in Nigeria. To this end it has stated that it will kill all Christians in the country.

In the month of January 2012 alone, Boko Haram was responsible for 54 deaths. In 2011 its members killed at least 510 people and burned down or destroyed more than 350 churches in 10 northern states. They use guns, gasoline bombs, and even machetes, shouting “Allahu akbar” (“God is great”) while launching attacks on unsuspecting citizens. They have attacked churches, a Christmas Day gathering (killing 42 Catholics), beer parlors, a town hall, beauty salons, and banks. They have so far focused on killing Christian clerics, politicians, students, policemen, and soldiers, as well as Muslim clerics who condemn their mayhem. While they started out by using crude methods like hit-and-run assassinations from the back of motorbikes in 2009, the latest AP reports indicate that the group’s recent attacks show a new level of potency and sophistication.

The Christophobia that has plagued Sudan for years takes a very different form. The authoritarian government of the Sunni Muslim north of the country has for decades tormented Christian and animist minorities in the south. What has often been described as a civil war is in practice the Sudanese government’s sustained persecution of religious minorities. This persecution culminated in the infamous genocide in Darfur that began in 2003. Even though Sudan’s Muslim president, Omar al-Bashir, has been indicted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which charged him with three counts of genocide, and despite the euphoria that greeted the semi-independence he grant-ed to South Sudan in July of last year, the violence has not ended. In South Kordofan, Christians are still subject-ed to aerial bombardment, targeted killings, the kidnap-ping of children, and other atrocities. Reports from the United Nations indicate that between 53,000 and 75,000 innocent civilians have been displaced from their resi-dences and that houses and buildings have been looted and destroyed.

Both kinds of persecution—undertaken by extragovernmental groups as well as by agents of the state—have come together in Egypt in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. On Oct. 9 of last year in the Maspero area of Cairo, Coptic Christians (who make up roughly 11 percent of Egypt’s population of 81 million) marched in protest against a wave of attacks by Islamists—including church burnings, rapes, mutilations, and murders—that followed the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak’s dictatorship. During the protest, Egyptian security forces drove their trucks into the crowd and fired on protesters, crushing and killing at least 24 and wounding more than 300 people. By the end of the year more than 200,000 Copts had fled their homes in anticipation of more attacks. With Islamists poised to gain much greater power in the wake of recent elections, their fears appear to be justified.

Egypt is not the only Arab country that seems bent on wiping out its Christian minority. Since 2003 more than 900 Iraqi Christians (most of them Assyrians) have been killed by terrorist violence in Baghdad alone, and 70 churches have been burned, according to the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA). Thousands of Iraqi Christians have fled as a result of violence directed specifically at them, reducing the number of Christians in the country to fewer than half a million from just over a million before 2003. AINA understandably describes this as an “incipient genocide or ethnic cleansing of Assyrians in Iraq.”

The 2.8 million Christians who live in Pakistan make up only about 1.6 percent of the population of more than 170 million. As members of such a tiny minority, they live in perpetual fear not only of Islamist terrorists but also of Pakistan’s draconian blasphemy laws. There is, for example, the notorious case of a Christian woman who was sentenced to death for allegedly insulting the Prophet Muhammad. When international pressure persuaded Punjab Gov. Salman Taseer to explore ways of freeing her, he was killed by his bodyguard. The bodyguard was then celebrated by prominent Muslim clerics as a hero—and though he was sentenced to death late last year, the judge who imposed the sentence now lives in hiding, fearing for his life.

Such cases are not unusual in Pakistan. The nation’s blasphemy laws are routinely used by criminals and intolerant Pakistani Muslims to bully religious minorities. Simply to declare belief in the Christian Trinity is considered blasphemous, since it contradicts mainstream Muslim theological doctrines. When a Christian group is suspected of transgressing the blasphemy laws, the consequences can be brutal. Just ask the members of the Christian aid group World Vision. Its offices were attacked in the spring of 2010 by 10 gunmen armed with grenades, leaving six people dead and four wounded. A militant Muslim group claimed responsibility for the attack on the grounds that World Vision was working to subvert Islam. (In fact, it was helping the survivors of a major earthquake.)

At least 13 people were killed and 140 injured on March 8, 2011, when participants in a large Christian demonstration in a Cairo slum were attacked by residents of a surrounding neighborhood., Mohamed Omar / EPA-LandovNot even Indonesia—often touted as the world’s most tolerant, democratic, and modern majority-Muslim nation—has been immune to the fevers of Christophobia. According to data compiled by the Christian Post, the number of violent incidents committed against religious minorities (and at 7 percent of the population, Christians are the country’s largest minority) increased by nearly 40 percent, from 198 to 276, between 2010 and 2011.

The litany of suffering could be extended. In Iran dozens of Christians have been arrested and jailed for daring to worship outside of the officially sanctioned church system. Saudi Arabia, meanwhile, deserves to be placed in a category of its own. Despite the fact that more than a million Christians live in the country as foreign workers, churches and even private acts of Christian prayer are banned; to enforce these totalitarian restrictions, the religious police regularly raid the homes of Christians and bring them up on charges of blasphemy in courts where their testimony carries less legal weight than a Muslim’s. Even in Ethiopia, where Christians make up a majority of the population, church burnings by members of the Muslim minority have become a problem.

It should be clear from this catalog of atrocities that anti-Christian violence is a major and underreported problem. No, the violence isn’t centrally planned or coordinated by some international Islamist agency. In that sense the global war on Christians isn’t a traditional war at all. It is, rather, a spontaneous expression of anti-Christian animus by Muslims that transcends cultures, regions, and ethnicities.

As Nina Shea, director of the Hudson Institute’s Center for Religious Freedom, pointed out in an interview with Newsweek, Christian minorities in many majority-Muslim nations have “lost the protection of their societies.” This is especially so in countries with growing radical Islamist (Salafist) movements. In those nations, vigilantes often feel they can act with impunity—and government inaction often proves them right. The old idea of the Ottoman Turks—that non-Muslims in Muslim societies deserve protection (albeit as second-class citizens)—has all but vanished from wide swaths of the Islamic world, and increasingly the result is bloodshed and oppression.

So let us please get our priorities straight. Yes, Western governments should protect Muslim minorities from intolerance. And of course we should ensure that they can worship, live, and work freely and without fear. It is the protection of the freedom of conscience and speech that distinguishes free societies from unfree ones. But we also need to keep perspective about the scale and severity of intolerance. Cartoons, films, and writings are one thing; knives, guns, and grenades are something else entirely.

As for what the West can do to help religious minorities in Muslim-majority societies, my answer is that it needs to begin using the billions of dollars in aid it gives to the offending countries as leverage. Then there is trade and investment. Besides diplomatic pressure, these aid and trade relationships can and should be made conditional on the protection of the freedom of conscience and worship for all citizens.

Instead of falling for overblown tales of Western Islamophobia, let’s take a real stand against the Christophobia infecting the Muslim world. Tolerance is for everyone—except the intolerant.

So the ex-Mayor of New York is back on the Obama bandwagon. Not really surprised. There’s some sort of ‘reward’ for Ed Kock for his swaying gullible Jews into voting for the racist Obama. Even after all the things Obama has done to and against the State of Israel, the Jews of America still fall for his lies and flip-flopping on his support for the very existence of Israel.

Barack Obama is no friend of or to Israel. It can only come from his youthful years of being raised in a Muslim/Islamic home. And from that teaching he learned to hate the Jews with a burning passion. Although today he’s fairly good at ‘hiding’ his real hate and animosity he has for the Jews.

I guess the one big thing that I’ll never understand about the Jewish Religion is the history they have available to teach them, but, they will not ‘listen’.

PRESS RELEASE

DATE: February 7 2012

FROM: J. Christopher Alexander, Sr. Esq.

RE: Darrell Wayne Glasper, Sr. v. Melvin Lee “Kip” Holden, Sr., Esq.
Docket No.: “606,163” Sec.: “23”
Nineteenth Judicial District Court
Parish of East Baton Rouge
State of Louisiana

Recently counsel for Mr. Holden—Mary Olive Pierson—without any public provocation from Darrell Glasper, my client, publicly attacked Mr. Glasper by calling him a liar multiple times and calling the serious allegations in his lawsuit against Mr. Holden “laughable.” Ms. Pierson’s attack on Mr. Glasper’s character was disseminated to a minimum of 500,000 citizens between the BR Advocate’s print and online subscribers. This number does not include the millions of potential readers throughout national and international syndication who were likely exposed to her attack. Thus, many, many people were exposed to a prominent member of the Bar directly attacking Mr. Glasper’s character and integrity because he chose to exercise his right to petition the court against Mr. Holden.

Instead of allowing the Court and a jury to be the ones to determine the merits of Mr. Glasper’s claims, Ms. Pierson has publicly—and recklessly—jeopardized that process by publicly attacking both Mr. Glasper personally and his claims. As said, she has called him a liar multiple times and called the allegations in his lawsuit laughable. In so doing, Ms. Pierson has taken this case outside the parameters of the court room and created an ethical duty on my part to publicly respond and therefore protect the public record. If I failed to address you today in response to my client being publicly called a liar—and correct the false public perception that she may have created about him—then I fail in my duty to my client.

Now to be clear, Ms. Pierson has the freedom as an American to say whatever she wants, about whomever she wants, no matter how false her comments may be. But, as you and I both know, where there is great freedom there is also great responsibility. If Ms. Pierson enjoys the freedom to publicly attack the character of another American in the eyes of hundreds of thousands if not millions of people—and to call him a liar multiple times—to call his allegations laughable—then she has a corresponding public duty to publicly state specifically what Mr. Glasper is lying about, and which of his allegations are laughable.

This is the essence of fairness-the essence of justice. If Ms. Pierson cannot publicly defend her own public statements, then she owes Mr. Glasper a formal public apology and retraction of her comments.

In direct response to Ms. Pierson’s public statements that Mr. Glasper is a liar, and that his allegations are laughable, allow me to address it directly and very clearly: Mr. Glasper lied about nothing in the past regarding his allegations against Mr. Holden; Mr. Glasper is not lying now, and Mr. Glasper will not lie in the future. Everything that he has stated is true.

And so I ask, in defense of my client, and in direct response to Ms. Pierson’s public allegations:

WHAT IS MR. GLASPER LYING ABOUT?

1. Is he lying when he states that Ms. Pierson boldly called for a full and aggressive federal and state investigation of Glasper’s allegations against Mr. Holden contained in this newsletter/flier; that she swore that whoever promulgated the flier was “dumb as a box of rocks,” and that he would be punished to the maximum extent of the law, and then later—and with no credible explanation—Ms. Pierson abruptly called for an end to that investigation? One minute it is an extremely serious investigative matter, and a few days later it is of no moment. Is this a laughable allegation? Ms. Pierson owes the public and the citizens of this community an answer to this question. Why did Ms. Pierson call off this investigation into false allegations against the Mayor that according to him, “almost destroyed my family”? Why is Ms. Pierson content with nobody being held accountable for such a viciously false public attack on Mr. Holden, her client whom she is duty bound to protect and defend? Every media outlet in the state of Louisiana ought to be asking her this question relentlessly until she provides a satisfactory answer to it.

2. Is Mr. Glasper lying when he alleges that Mr. Holden has used or is using my tax dollars and your tax dollars to engage a security detail to escort him and protect him while he has sexual relations with married women? Using my money and your money—our money—not his money—for this purpose? Is this is a lie?

3. Is Mr. Glasper lying when he alleges that he was specifically implicated in the original complaint filed with the Ethics Board over the source of this flier, and yet he was never prosecuted, never brought for hearing, never pursued at all? Never even questioned until it was too late for them to take any action against him? Is Mr. Glasper lying about this?

4. Is Mr. Glasper lying when he says that Mr. Holden ordered his tax payer funded security detail—my money and your money—our money—to flee the scene of a potential crime when he was having relations with a married woman and her husband came home—physically confronted Mr. Holden, and injured Mr Holden, although Mr. Holden apparently had no concerns for the safety of the married woman when he fled the crime scene. Is it a lie that a hard working man came home unexpectedly to find a Baton Rouge Police officer standing guard at his door to prevent him from catching a high ranking official- intruder- Mayor Holden- in his home having sex with his wife? An official who is paid by his tax dollars? An official whose officers who guard him are paid by his hard earned tax dollars- and also your tax dollars and my tax dollars- your money and my money. Is this a lie? Is Mr. Glasper lying when he says that video evidence of Mr. Holden’s injuries exists and that this footage shows chuckling before the legislature as to how Mayor Holden sustained these injuries?

To reiterate, in response to Ms. Pierson’s bold public assertion that Mr. Glasper is lying and that his lawsuit is laughable, I emphasize again that he is lying about nothing, has lied about nothing, and will lie about nothing. His allegations are true. A full and complete federal and state investigation will show conclusively what witnesses are already coming forward and stating: Mayor Holden has abused the power of his office for personal gratification that has nothing to do with public matters or public concern. Further, Mayor Holden’s acts have been covered up to this point.

Ms. Pierson is absolutely right about one thing: Somebody is lying. Somebody is covering up. But it is not Mr. Glasper. I call upon Ms. Pierson to return to her original vocal position by again calling for a full and complete investigation into these allegations once again—as she did before- and allow that investigation to proceed through its natural course.

It is my hope that no judge, administrator, law enforcement agent, or other person has been swayed by Ms. Pierson’s public rhetoric. But I am under an affirmative obligation to protect Mr. Glasper from public attacks on his character. I am duty-bound to ensure that Mr. Glasper’s serious claims are permitted to proceed through full discovery and adjudication—despite any attempt to delay and obstruct that objective. Let me be clear: I am confident that a full and complete investigation into these allegations will not be impeded or delayed by any person, for any reason until the full truth of these allegations is known. Anyone who impedes this process is complicit in wrongdoing and should be held fully accountable by every legitimate means available.

Lastly, and as alluded to earlier, witnesses are coming forward alleging extremely serious acts and omissions against Mr. Holden. My office is referring those witnesses to the appropriate law enforcement agencies for investigation. I am not involved in the criminal investigation and am not at liberty to reveal any names of witnesses at this point. I can verify on good authority that a formal criminal complaint has been filed against Mr. Holden by a decorated law enforcement officer and is being investigated, and that law enforcement is interviewing other witnesses.

Thank you.

But some other things happened that brought me to the point of suing the federal government,” former Sheriff Richard Mack told the crowd of Cincinnati 9/12ers and other listeners that had gathered at Lakota East Freshman Campus Auditorium on Thursday night. Many people still refer to him as “Sheriff” as a way of expressing respect.

Sheriff Mack’s story is an amazing journey that brought him to the realization that being a cop isn’t about writing tickets and being a tax collector and revenue agent — it’s about keeping the peace. His journey includes studying to be an FBI agent in Utah where he lived with his wife and, at the time, their only child, a baby boy. He worked his way through college as a part-time “meter-maid,” was hired as a full-time police officer, and later became an undercover cop. That particular position was one that he and his wife strongly disliked because it was especially hard on them as a family. The nature of the work kept them apart for 4-5 days at a time, even preventing him from being able to call home and speak to her. He confided that it was likely much harder on her because of the stress and burden of knowing that he was out there with x-cons, drug dealers and street gangs. He said that it also taught him a lot about the drug war, the drug culture, and brought him to a place of questioning all of it, which led him to conclude that it’s actually unconstitutional and that he couldn’t support it.

He was later assigned back to patrol. On one particular day on a relatively quiet street where he was writing tickets and in a marked car, he witnessed a driver with three misbehaving children blow right past him and run a stop sign. By the time the lady saw him, she knew she had been caught and just automatically pulled over. From his cruiser, Mack could see her throw her arms up as if to say, “What else could go wrong today?”

As he was getting out of his cruiser, her weary arm was draped out of the car window with her license and registration in hand — just waiting in surrender.

Mack’s initial thoughts were, This is going to be easy! She’s not making any excuses, she’s not crying, this lady is just in no-wheres-ville.

Upon reaching her vehicle, he noticed that her depressed, dejected and discouraged eyes continued to stare into the distance. And as he was getting ready to hand her the ticket, he paused. She was driving a deteriorating Datsun that couldn’t possibly have been worth even $350 dollars. He glimpsed at the kids, and back at the lady. Then he looked at himself.

Mack said it was the most penetrating day that he’d ever felt in his life as he asked himself, Mack, is there anything that you’re doing here that’s helping this family? Is there anything that you’re doing here that’s making this city a better place to live? Is there anything you’re doing that’s bringing honor to the badge that you wear on your chest?

He told the crowd that he knew the answer to all those questions, and that it made him more depressed than the lady.

Mack took the ticket and walked back to his car without ever saying a word to her: “Because I was too engrossed and enveloped in my own shame,” he said. “I didn’t want to give her a chance to thank me for not giving her that ticket. That would have only exacerbated my shame and there was no thanks deserved for what I had become; a by-the-numbers jerk.”

After tearing up the ticket and properly disposing of it, he said that he did the rest of his shift that night without writing any more tickets – wondering why he was a cop.

The next day he arrived at work early and went to the city clerk’s office, not really knowing why at first. A vague memory of taking an oath of office when he first took the job popped into his mind. He verified his memory of the oath with the clerk and she confirmed it, making a quick copy of the oath and handing it to him before he could even ask.

He read it, said he became more depressed than the day before and realized that he was a liar and a hypocrite. When he took the job, his motivation was that he thought it would be fun, exciting and exhilarating – especially when you’re in high speed pursuits. “Those are probably the biggest adrenalin rushes I’ve ever felt,” he admitted. But he didn’t want to be that person anymore and was ready to quit without even a 2 week notice. While walking to the Chief’s office and ready to hand in his badge, thoughts of what his wife might say came to mind. Not being able to pay the bills because he had decided that he is a liar and a hypocrite would never fly. He decided she’d tell him just to stop being a liar and a hypocrite. That even seemed like the better plan. So he decided not to quit and began reading the Constitution whenever he had the time available, studying how it worked together with his oath of office and state sovereignty.

Not too long after that, a seminar was offered entitled, “Constitutional Studies for Law Enforcement Officers.” The name of the instructor was W.Cleon Skousen. Today, many know him as the author of the book The 5000 Year Leap, very popular among Tea Partiers and 9/12 groups. But the material used in the seminar Mack attended was Skousen’s then popular book, The Making of America. 240 cops attended.

Mack said that while he was there, “I made a promise to myself that I would never be on the wrong side again.” During that time, he said that he also came to realize that “the Constitution is inspired by God Almighty, and these Founding Fathers were inspired by God Almighty.”

Then Mack challenged the audience, “Wouldn’t it be miraculous for us all in this room tonight, and for all Americans if we actually had local leaders and state leaders (who would do this), because we know we’re never going to get federal leaders to do this, but Governors, State Reps, State Senators, County Commissioners, and Sheriffs especially, who will actually keep their oath of office? Do you see the miracles here? Do you see what would happen? Where Sheriffs would actually have a departmental meeting, talking to all their deputies and saying, ‘What can we do to make sure we’re following the Bill of Rights? And show me your pocket Constitution where the action you took with that citizen is constitutionally allowed. And that would get everyone concentrating on one thing in the judicial, executive and legislative branches…the Constitution. Because if we do, the people get back their freedom.”

Mack’s promise to himself to never be on the wrong side was put to the test with the Clinton administration’s insistence that the Brady bill be enforced. Mack was directly affected because he was a Sheriff in Arizona at the time, saw the bill as unconstitutional, and decided to sue the Clinton administration rather than break his oath: an oath he swore to the people of Arizona in the sight of God Almighty. By God’s grace, he won that case. He goes into some detail about that in his book, The County Sheriff: America’s Last Hope, and also offers valuable insights into the freedoms that America’s Constitution extends to “We the People.” His book can be purchased at

Sheriff Mack graciously agreed to an interview with Examiner.com on the issue of state sovereignty. Here are some of the highlights:

Examiner: Are you familiar with the executive order that Obama signed (on January 11) which includes his appointing of 10 State Governors who will meet with the Secretary of Defense and other departments to discuss matters of mutual interest pertaining to the National Guard, homeland defense, and Civil support activities?

Sheriff Mack: Yes.

Examiner: I know this is an executive order, but isn’t there something about this council of governors, or its functions, that is unconstitutional?

Sheriff Mack: They can get together if they want and talk about areas of mutual concern, but it sounds to me more like Obama is trying to get them on his side to make sure they by-pass state sovereignty issues that governors are being compelled to look at from their state Tea Party organizations.

Really, the Tea Party Organizations are about state sovereignty and following the constitution – something that the governors haven’t been doing for a long time, and the federal government hasn’t been doing for a long time.

Nobody is trusting any of these executive orders by Barak Obama right now, and the governors don’t have to participate. If they’re participating, it’s all on a volunteer basis, just like the states do not have to participate in nationalized healthcare. And the law suit that I filed against the Clinton administration states very clearly, “The state legislatures are not subject to federal direction.”

Examiner: What can American citizens do to fight something like this? It seems these 10 State Governors are stepping into matters beyond their own states?

Sheriff Mack: They are. The best things that citizens can do are to make sure that their governors know how they feel. They hear from the Tea Party groups (who have) changed history already. And right now, every state legislator, county legislator and county official, especially sheriffs, need to hear how their constituents feel…all (these officials) have sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.

Examiner: If a State Governor such as Ohio’s should refuse to enforce state sovereignty in relation to the healthcare bill and the cap and trade bill, do you know of any recourse that Ohio citizens would have if these bills would pass?

Sheriff Mack: Well first of all, the governor needs to know the truth about state sovereignty. That’s the first thing that we have a responsibility as citizens to do. Governor Strickland needs to look at the 10th amendment and the profound truth behind the power of the states. If the state of Ohio is indeed sovereign, like my Supreme Court’s decision said they are, and like the constitution says they are, and the Founding Fathers said we are, then his responsibility is to stand for Ohio. Not go along with Washington DC, not worry about following all the dictates of Washington D.C. so we (Ohio residents) keep the money, but stand for Ohio. That’s his job. And when you get the governors working hand-in-hand with the Sheriffs of the states, there’s no stopping the Tea Party Movement, there’s no stopping the principles of freedom that we will rediscover.

Examiner: There are a lot of states that are in financial trouble right now and they’ve been going to the federal government and basically asking for a bailout. How can a state government get some leverage in order to be able to enforce this stuff and not be manipulated by the federal government?

Sheriff Mack: Well first of all, you’re going to have to have some local officials and governors with some courage. The answer is simple. Implementing it is going to take some courage and some real know-how.

Let me tell you what Oklahoma is doing: I spoke before the Oklahoma State legislature about 3 weeks ago…and it’s being proposed that if the federal government gets mad at any particular state and they threaten to withhold funds, which is extortion – legalized extortion – we (the states) aren’t going to send you (the feds) any more money…taxes that (in this case) Oklahoma collects will be paid to Oklahoma city, and they will forward on to Washington DC what they think they ought to send…The richest state in the union will be the first state that will have the guts to do that.

Examiner: Even if a Sheriff realizes the depth of his or her authority, why would you say that he or she might be hesitant to choose to stand in that authority?

Sheriff Mack: Well I hope they’re not hesitant. I hope they learn their duty and learn their true power, and it comes with education and that’s what my book is all about, is educating citizens and Sheriffs alike with the proper role of the Sheriff. The Sheriff is the only elected law enforcement officer in the United States and in the country. He’s the only one that directly reports to the power source: the people…he has promised them (in his oath) that he would uphold and defend and protect their constitutional rights. So he has basically promised to be the people’s protector from the wolves. Doesn’t matter where the wolf comes from.

Leon Puissegur

I watched the developing story on the Keystone Pipeline with an interest that some may consider to be half crazy and half determination! I could not believe that our president, Obama would turn down a deal that would bring oil from not just the Canadian oil fields, but also from our own oil fields to refineries along the Gulf. I wondered why did this happen, who was really behind this? What does the Keystone XL pipeline really encompass? I decided to just ask a few questions directly to the Trans Canada people themselves. I sent them 8 simple questions and a man named; Shawn Howard sent me answers to the 8 questions I asked. I was going to encapsulate the article within the questions but decided to just place the questions and answers as I got them and give a brief discussion below each answer then add what other interesting information I have found.

The following questions and answers are as they were presented to Trans Canada in relation to what the Keystone XL Pipeline was about. The answers were given to me by Mr. Shawn Howard of Trans Canada.

Question 1. How much per barrel is the oil that the Keystone Pipeline will provide?

A. TransCanada is hired to safely transport or provide a product, based on our customers’ needs. We are not an oil and gas company, we are an energy infrastructure company. As a result, we are not involved in the development of the oil that will flow through the Keystone system, so we can’t say how much it will cost (each company will have their own costs).

Question 2. I understand that some oil is being shipped by rail so which rail company is providing the tank cars for the transportation of this oil if it is being done this way?

A. Without access to a pipeline, oil is typically transported by rail, truck or tanker. Since we are not involved in the rail business, I cannot tell you all the companies who are involved, but even a quick look on the internet would show that Burlington Northern, CN and some others do move oil products throughout North America.

Question 3. How many EPA permits have been granted but now under Obama have been retracted?

A. Not all permits and approvals required for a pipeline project like this come from the EPA. There are many government agencies at the state and federal levels.

Question 4. How many present pipelines your company owns has had problems in the past if any, such as bursting, catching fire, or other Environmental problems attributed to your pipelines if any?

A. TransCanada has been in the pipeline business for over 60 years and is a leader with one of the best pipeline safety and operating records in the industry. The biggest risk to pipelines are not corrosion or issues related directly to a section of line, but third-party strikes. This is why we are so active in supporting dial before you dig programs and landowner awareness along our entire pipeline system. After the first Keystone line went into operation, we did have some releases of oil on some of our pump station sites. Most of these were less than five gallons and the product was contained on our lease. We did have one larger release, but the only oil that went off our lease was a slight mist – all of that grass was cut and taken away to be properly disposed of. There have been no environmental issues with any of these releases and there is absolutely no issue with the integrity or safety of the Keystone pipeline. Each day in the U.S., more than 200,000 miles of pipelines move oil and other energy products safely to where they are needed – that’s enough pipe to circle the earth eight times. We monitor our pipeline system through a centralized high-tech centre 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Keystone XL will use satellite technology that sends data every five seconds from 21,000 data points to our monitoring centre. If a drop in pressure is detected, we can isolate any section of our pipeline by remotely closing any of the hundreds of valves on the system within minutes. Since the pipeline is four feet below the ground, we can begin repairs immediately and effectively. National pipeline statistics indicate that pipeline accidents are uncommon and that leaks tend to be small; most pipeline leaks involve three barrels or less, 80 per cent of spills involve less than 50 barrels and less than 0.5 per cent of spills total more than 10,000 barrels. According to the Association of Oil Pipelines, spills along hazardous liquid pipeline rights-of-way have fallen from two incidents per thousand miles in 1999-2001 to 0.8 incidents per thousand miles in 2005-2007, a decline of 60 per cent.

Question 5. Will your company sell to Chinese interests if you cannot get approval for the pipeline Obama has stopped?

A. The oil that we transport is not “ours” – it is always owned by our customers. Who they decide to sell to is their choice and in keeping with how a free market works.

Question 6. Are you able and willing to wait until Congress forces the vote to accept the pipeline?

A. The decision on when to re-file an application, or what that application (or applications) may look like is up to our customers and shippers. As a business, if we do not have commercial support, then projects like this cannot proceed. Since the denial of the Presidential Permit at this time, we continue to talk with our shippers and customers to get their direction on how to proceed next.

Question 7. Which Government official in the Obama Administration is giving the most problems with your efforts to build this pipeline?

A. We are working with many departments to advance the Keystone XL pipeline. We will continue to do so when we file a new application to secure approval of this critical piece of North American energy infrastructure.

Question 8. How many pipeline does your company have running through the United States at this time?

A. TransCanada currently has about 1,600 employees who live and work in 33 U.S. states. We have been operating in the United States for more than 60 years – we are a truly North American company. Here is a link to the pipelines section of our website – http://www.transcanada.com/99.html. You can see that we either own, operate or have a significant interest in 10 natural gas pipeline systems and one operating oil pipeline (Keystone) in the U.S. We are one of the largest natural gas pipeline operators – delivering about 20 percent of the natural gas that is consumed in the U.S. every day.As can be seen by the answers to these questions, this project seems to have met all of the prior requirements except as shown in question number 6, which states, “Since the denial of the Presidential Permit at this time.” Here it is VERY clear that the “Presidential Permit is the problem and this goes Directly to Obama himself! Why is Obama holding up the progress that would help ease our dependence on foreign oil? Why has Obama gone and stopped a project that would help the UNITED STATES? Only Obama himself can answer these questions, but upon digging into this I have also found out that there may be some conflict with Warren Buffet, remember this is very speculative at the moment, but the question does pop up especially since Warren Buffet owns Berkshire Hathaway Inc., which has interests in a number of different companies including ones such as GEICO Auto Insurance, Fruit of the Loom, and several other companies, but the ones that bring questions are the ties to the MidAmerican Energy Holding Company which has several different businesses that may well conflict with a pipeline since they may well be in competition with KeystoneXL. Warren Buffet has interests in a pipeline that was NEVER intefred<sic> with coming out of Wyoming and crossing Utah and Nevada without much news coverage over it if any at all! This project is called the Kern River Gas Transmission project.

Has anyone ever wondered why it is that the Kern River gas Transmission Pipeline was never given the same scrutiny that the Keystone XL was given? Could it be that the reason was because the Kern river pipeline was owned by Obama’s friend, Warren Buffet? Nothing can be shown here that this is true in any way, but the question has never been asked and few if any even know about this natural gas pipeline called the Kern River expansion project. It just makes one wonder why is the Keystone project being stopped while the Kern River project was done with very little fanfare?

Another subsidy of MidAmerican energy is called Northern Natural gas and this company has pipelines going through the very states that are now complaining about the Keystone XL project! This company has pipelines that go through Texas, Okalahoma, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Illinois, and South Dakota to mention just a few States that this pipeline goes through. I am positive that many other pipelines go through nearly every state in the United States, but the big question arises when it comes to the closeness of these companies to the Keystone XL pipeline and why this one project was stopped by Obama?

With all this, one has to question why this project that could produce jobs has been shut down by President Obama? Is it because a possible conflict with Warren Buffet’s projects and businesses that also have pipelines in the same areas, or is it just because Obama just does not care or know what he is doing here?

Now the Prime Minster of Canada, Stephen Harper is in discussion with the Chinese about oil sales and some other economic ties since President Obama turned down Canada’s Keystone XL pipeline! How could Obama turn down this pipeline with oil coming from our neighbor and some from North Dakota also. This may well turn out to be the worst decision by Obama since it would help get our nation off the foreign oil that comes from the people that hate our nation so bad! It just makes one wonder why Obama has made this decision when Canada wants to meet all requirements to get this pipeline done! Now it looks like Canada will just build a pipeline to the Pacific and ship that oil to China!! Once again Obama has sent jobs to China when people here in our borders are desperate for jobs!! Our nation, the United States absorbs some 97 percent of Canadian oil imports, but now China may take some of that away from us because Obama has chosen to stop the KeystoneXL pipeline. The Chinese have invested some 16 billion dollars in Canadian energy and are now looking to obtain more, if Obama does not move now, our nation will once again lose to China!! Prime Minister Stephen Harper is now even more determined to build a pipeline to the Pacific coast so Canada can move the oil that could have been moved through the Keystone XL Pipeline, to China through his proposed Pacific Pipeline. What was Obama thinking when he stopped the pipeline that was nearly ready to go through? The Keystone XL Pipeline would have brought a large number of jobs, estimates go from a few hundred to several thousand, but due to the “POLITICS” of his, Obama’s, mind set. In yet another time where Obama had the people he appointed say that the project was good, he once again turned down their very good advice in favor of what HE wanted.

Jack Gerard, the CEO and the President of API stated, “What we see and what we hear from this administration are two different things. No place is this more clear than the decision today on the Keystone XL pipeline. President Obama said last year that many of the shovel-ready jobs imagined by his stimulus program were ‘not as shovel-ready as we expected.’ But the Keystone XL pipeline would create 20,000 new U.S. construction-related jobs over the next two years. More importantly, it would help support the creation of half-a-million new jobs by 2035. But today … in a clear abdication of presidential leadership, the president will reject the Keystone XL pipeline. How can you say you are for jobs and reject the largest shovel-ready project in America today? Mr. President, what are you thinking?”

Gerard also stated;“The president has had three years to make a fundamental decision: Is this in the national interest?…The president has missed an easy opportunity to do what’s in the best interest of the United States.”

Now how can anyone even consider the fact that Obama said he wants to help our nation when he, Obama, makes these types of dumb decisions based solely on “politics” alone? This is not what a President does when he really wants to help the people! The President is supposed to lead, but Obama has failed with the KeystoneXL pipeline! Even the very Unions that Obama is “supposed” to help made complaints about what Obama did when he turned down this project and maybe sent the oil that could decrease gasoline prices to China!

Terry O’Sullivan , the General President of Laborers’ International Union of North America stated, “We are completely and totally disappointed. This is politics at its worst. Once again the President has sided with environmentalists instead of blue collar construction workers – even though environmental concerns were more than adequately addressed. Blue collar construction workers across the U.S. will not forget this.”

This is in the nations best interest, but Obama does not consider the KeystoneXL Pipeline as a national interest, yet oil from near and within our borders IS in the best interest of our nation yet this President cannot see this due to his high apparitions of being re-elected! Obama has decided that his re-election is a much more important issue then a pipeline that would not only provide jobs, but also is in the best interest of our nation, yet Obama has no idea of what is best for this nation other then what he, Obama, wants! If obtain oil from just north and in some instances within our borders is NOT in the nations best interest, I have to wonder from where is Obama basing his assumptions on? Has Obama made the decision that it would be better to obtain oil from Communist China then from our neighbor to the north? Why does Obama “Politics” have to be a determination to the best interest of our nations use of fuel? Come on now, we need oil and the Keystone XL project would not harm anything at all!!!

The only thing that has kept the Keystone XL pipeline from becoming a reality is the “POLITICAL” asperations of Obama!! This is NOT the way our nation or the President is supposed to work. Obama was supposed to be FOR the people, but with the Keystone XL project, it becomes very clear that Obama does not care about anything BUT HIS re-election!!

[Emphasis Mine]

It’s said that, ‘good things come to those who wait’. And maybe now the ‘good’ has indeed started to make it’s maiden voyage Rep. Issa and his investigation of ‘Fast and Furious’.

Eric Holder has been given to the 9th of February to get his stuff together and give it to Rep. Issa and the House Oversight Committee or be held in contempt of Congress.

Here’s the story from Big Government.com:

» Fast and Furious Update: Issa Threatens Holder with Contempt of Congress – Big Government.

Fast and Furious Update: Issa Threatens Holder with Contempt of Congress

by AWR Hawkins

I just received an email from Congressman Darrell Issa’s (R-CA) office, and as I alluded to in my last post on Big Government, zero hour is fast approaching for Attorney General Eric Holder. He is to appear before the House Oversight Committee for questions over Fast and Furious this Thursday at 9 am, and the closer we get to that time, the greater the pressure that seems to be mounting on Holder.

At the head of the crowd applying pressure to Holder is Issa himself, who has simply grown sick and tired of waiting on Holder to comply with the numerous subpoenas he’s received for documents related to Fast and Furious. As a result, Issa has moved from a “wait and see” approach to one of demanding Holder comply or else. To that end Issa sent Holder a letter on January 31 warning him that he has until Feb. 9 to turn over all documents or face “contempt” charges.

Wrote Issa to Holder:

[Your] actions lead us to conclude that the department is actively engaged in a cover-up. If the department continues to obstruct the congressional inquiry by not providing documents and information, this committee will have no alternative but to move forward with proceedings to hold you in contempt of Congress.

[Emphasis Mine]

Issa has plenty of reasons to suspect a cover-up, and he’s not alone in doing so. After all, the most recent DOJ document dump (on Friday, January 27), proved that despite months upon months of denials, the DOJ did have knowledge of gun-running all along. Not only that, but the DOJ’s own Lanny Breuer actually suggested gun-running at a tactic. Who knows how many more revelations await us if Holder will only hand over the rest of the documents Issa has subpoenaed?

One thing’s for sure, it seems we’ve finally reached a breaking point where there are only two options: Either Holder complies with Issa’s demands or he faces charges of contempt. One way or another, we’re getting closer to finding out where the blame lies for this criminal undertaking referred to as “Fast and Furious.”

How embarrassing this must be for President Obama, whose major speech theme so far this campaign season has been that every single American, no matter how rich, should pay their “fair share” of taxes.

Because how unfair — indeed, un-American — it is for an office worker like, say, Warren Buffet’s secretary to dutifully pay her taxes, while some well-to-do people with better educations and higher incomes end up paying a much smaller tax rate.

Or, worse, skipping their taxes altogether.

A new report just out from the Internal Revenue Service reveals that 36 of President Obama’s executive office staff owe the country $833,970 in back taxes. These people working for Mr. Fair Share apparently haven’t paid any share, let alone their fair share.

Previous reports have shown how well-paid Obama’s White House staff is, with 457 aides pulling down more than $37 million last year. That’s up seven workers and nearly $4 million from the Bush administration’s last year.

Nearly one-third of Obama’s aides make more than $100,000 with 21 being paid the top White House salary of $172,200, each.

The IRS’ 2010 delinquent tax revelations come as part of a required annual agency report on federal employees’ tax compliance. Turns out, an awful lot of folks being paid by taxpayers are not paying their own income taxes.

The report finds that thousands of federal employees owe the country more than $3.4 billion in back taxes. That’s up 3% in the past year.

That scale of delinquency could annoy voters, hard-pressed by their own costs, fears and stubbornly high unemployment despite Joe Biden’s many promises.

The tax offenders include employees of the U.S. Senate who help write the laws imposed on everyone else. They owe $2.1 million. Workers in the House of Representatives owe $8.5 million, Department of Education employees owe $4.3 million and over at Homeland Security, 4,697 workers owe about $37 million. Active duty military members owe more than $100 million.

The Treasury Department, where Obama nominee Tim Geithner had to pay up $42,000 in his own back taxes before being confirmed as secretary, has 1,181 other employees with delinquent taxes totaling $9.3 million.

As usual, the Postal Service, with more than 600,000 workers, has the most offenders (25,640), who also owe the most — almost $270 million. Veterans Affairs has 11,659 workers owing the IRS $151 million while the Energy Department that was so quick to dish out more than $500 million to the Solyndra folks has 322 employees owing $5 million.

The country’s chief law enforcement agency, the Department of Justice, has 2,069 employees who are nearly $17 million behind in taxes. Like Operation Fast and Furious, Attorney General Eric Holder has apparently missed them too.

For anyone who really wasted time listening to Obama give this ‘speech’, well, what can I say? Mr. Obama has never, not in anyone of his State of the Union speeches, has ever been truthful or given the real standing of our Union, the United States of America.

I’ve listened to him before and usually about all he does, as he did last night, is complain about what Congress is doing. They don’t support him. They won’t work with him. They won’t give him his way (well, that’s what he means). When he knows the truth of the matter is, his liberal flunkies are doing his dirty work and are preforming beautifully as his whipping boy/girl. They are letting him get away with so many things that are illegal. I’ve lost count of the number of Czars he has appointed, the number of ‘recess appointments’ he’s made just so the nominee won’t have to be vetted/approved by the Congress. He is trying his best to turn the office of President into a Dictatorship and the Congress critters are letting him get away with it.

It is just so hard to believe that ALL of those elected Democrat/Liberals truly believe what Obama has done is right. Oh he has his ‘boot-lickers’, like Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Al Sharpten, etc., etc. But there has to be a few that knows he’s wrong but yet will not stand up to him or the Democrat Party because they know which side of the bread their butter is on. It’s pathetic that men and women have forsaken all their ethics, morals and honesty for the sake of getting richer and more powerful.

As for the State of this Union?? It’s bankrupt!

But you didn’t hear that from the President last night, did you?? Oh no. That’s one more truth he won’t admit to.

I really liked what Steven T. Dennis and Meredith Shiner, from Roll Call said in their article. Click on the link to read the entire piece:

President Barack Obama greets Rep. Gabrielle Giffords on Tuesday at her last State of the Union address before she resigns this week.

President Barack Obama delivered a populist, election-year poke at a dysfunctional Congress in a State of the Union address Tuesday night filled with policy proposals and urgent rhetoric aimed at aiding the middle class.

The heart of Obama’s argument is that the middle class is in danger of slipping away, and that he needs to act — with or without Congress — to help give them a fair shake.

“We can either settle for a country where a shrinking number of people do really well, while a growing number of Americans barely get by. Or we can restore an economy where everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share and everyone plays by the same set of rules,” he said.

Obama said he would work with Members of Congress if they would work with him, and he urged them to follow the example of the nation’s military in coming together to solve problems. “But I intend to fight obstruction with action, and I will oppose any effort to return to the very same policies that brought on this economic crisis in the first place,” he said.

Obama repeatedly acknowledged that the nation’s biggest problems may not be solved this year given Congress’ dysfunction.

“No matter what party they belong to, I bet most Americans are thinking the same thing right now: Nothing will get done this year, or next year, or maybe even the year after that because Washington is broken. Can you blame them for feeling a little cynical?” he asked. He lectured Congress for the “fiasco” of last year’s debt ceiling fight and lamented the “corrosive” effect of money in politics.

Obama also took aim at Congress’ own ethics and Senate filibusters.

Then-Sen. Obama embraced filibusters when Democrats were in the minority under President George W. Bush, but now he seems to have had enough of them. Obama proposed limiting filibusters to 90 days for judicial and “public service” nominations — a plan akin to the “nuclear option” that previous Senate majority leaders have suggested.

Obama also proposed tough new ethics rules for Members of Congress and lobbyists — rules that are sure to have Members of both parties complaining. He proposed conflict-of-interest rules banning Members of Congress from holding stock in companies that have business before their committees or from taking any official action that would benefit their financial interests. And he proposed banning lobbyists from bundling campaign donations for lawmakers.

But as expected, most of the president’s speech focused on jobs, with the president trying to put a shine on his record as one that took the economy from freefall to growth. For example, Obama claimed credit for saving the auto industry and restoring private-sector job growth.

“The state of our union is getting stronger. And we’ve come too far to turn back now,” he said.

Obama’s new proposals included new tax breaks for insourcing and manufacturing, more offshore oil leases, enforcement of trade rules, and enhancements to education and job training.

Obama also spotlighted a fleshed-out “Buffett rule” that would set a minimum tax rate of 30 percent for millionaires — a policy that would double GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney’s tax bill.

While whacking the rich, Obama pushed for Congress to make it easier for homeowners who are keeping up with their mortgage payments to refinance, punish colleges for tuition hikes and prevent a tax increase for the middle class.

The speech also had its warmer moments — from the standing ovation that welcomed Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) for her last appearance on the floor before her resignation to the boisterous applause that marked the killing of Osama bin Laden.

Obama and Giffords exchanged a warm embrace and several words before he took the podium to deliver what likely was the most important speech of his presidency to date. Giffords’ husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, watched from the gallery with first lady Michelle Obama, as the recovering Congresswoman — shot in the head just over a year ago — rose to cheer the president on immigration, education and innovation policies. She gently pumped her left fist, watching Obama deliver his speech from the first row of the House chamber and flanked by two Arizona colleagues, Democratic Rep. Raúl Grijalva and Republican Rep. Jeff Flake.

The address was marked by moments that have become typical of Obama’s speeches, with House Republicans barely leaving their seats except for a rare line that aligned with their interests. The House GOP leadership team, for example, rose to loud cheers at Obama’s assertion that the nation has “a supply of natural gas that can last America nearly 100 years and … will support more than 600,000 jobs by the end of the decade.”

Earlier in Obama’s address, when the president vowed to fight “any effort to return” to the policies that allowed for financial crisis, a female voice could be heard from the floor yelling “Keystone pipeline!” over the cheers of Democrats and silence from Republicans. The administration rejected the authorization of the oil pipeline project earlier this month.

With a focus on manufacturing, Obama put some heartland Republicans on the spot. When he talked about a revived domestic auto industry and the federal bailout that boosted it, many Republicans did not stand. But Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.), up for re-election in 2012 and from a state with serious economic ties to the industry, rose to cheer, nearly alone in his block of seats.

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, meanwhile, delivered the Republican response, ripping the president for having a “pro-poverty policy” that stifles energy projects like the Keystone XL pipeline. And he said House Republicans should be given credit for taking on the nation’s challenges.

“It’s not fair and it’s not true for the president to attack Republicans in Congress as obstacles on these questions,” Daniels said in prepared speech excerpts. “They and they alone have passed bills to reduce borrowing, reform entitlements and encourage new job creation, only to be shot down nearly time and again by the president and his Democrat Senate allies.”

Daniels, who considered a run for president last year, said Obama is to blame for the divisions on Capitol Hill.

“No feature of the Obama presidency has been sadder than its constant efforts to divide us, to curry favor with some Americans by castigating others,” the governor said.

Daniels took a bleaker view of the country’s current state than did Obama.

“When President Obama claims that the state of our union is anything but grave, he must know in his heart that this is not true,” he said.

Still, Daniels seemed to acknowledge that Republicans have to put concrete policy prescriptions on the table in order to defeat Obama in November.

“An opposition that would earn its way back to leadership must offer not just criticism of failures that anyone can see, but a positive and credible plan to make life better,” he said. He noted that Republicans would push tax reform and changes to entitlements.
